Travel to Hilton Minneapolis via Light Rail Transit
Minneapolis boasts one of the largest public transportation systems in the country with the Light Rail Transit (LRT) system offering an inexpensive and fast train connection from Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport to downtown Minneapolis. Conveniently serving Nicollet Mall near downtown hotels and the Convention Center, attendees can easily get to and from many of the area's popular destinations. The cost of LRT from the Airport to downtown is $1.50 to $2.75 per trip and runs every 7.5 minutes in rush hour (Monday-Friday 6-9am and 3-6:30pm) and every 10-15 minutes at other times. Transport to downtown Minneapolis takes approximately 25 minutes.
To reach the station, follow the Airport's Ground Transportation signs to the lower level, then take the tram. To board trains, take the escalator down one level from the tram level and purchase a rail ticket at the vending machine. Continue down another escalator to the rail platform.
Exit train at Nicollet Mall stop. Walk east on platform to Marquette Avenue. Walk South (to the right) on Marquette 5 blocks to 10th Street. The hotel is on the corner of 10th St. & Marquette Ave.

Affordable ground transportation is available from the Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport by visiting www.supershuttle.com and clicking on on-line reservations. Pay $15 for one-way travel to and from the airport/Hilton. Please note that advance reservations are not required from the MSP Airport. If you don't have reservations, simply follow the directions below from either terminal:
Lindbergh (Main) Terminal - Please follow the signs stating "Hotel Shuttles and Scheduled Vans" to the "Ground Transportation Atrium." Our SuperShuttle service desk (open 24-7) is located in the center of the Atrium.
Hubert Humphrey Terminal - Proceed across the street to the transportation center. Use the phone at our SuperShuttle kiosk and you will be connected to our service desk. An agent will promptly arrange for your transportation.
Taxi
Taxis are available at the Lindbergh and Humphrey Terminals. Taxi service at the Lindbergh Terminal is accessible via the Tram Level. Signs direct passengers one level up to the cab starter booth, where airport staff will assist passengers in obtaining a taxi. At the Humphrey Terminal, taxi service is available at the Humphrey Ground Transport Center, which is located in the Humphrey Parking ramp on Level 1.
Downtown Minneapolis is approximately 16 miles from the airport, with fares averaging $32 - $38. All cab fares are metered at a rate of $1.90 per mile and include a $2.75 trip fee that is added to the final metered fare.
Car Rental
The rental car counters at the Lindbergh Terminal are located in the Hub building located between the Blue and Red parking ramps, on Levels 1, 2 & 3. Passengers can take the underground tram to go between the Lindbergh Terminal and the Hub building. At the Humphrey Terminal, on-airport rental car counters are located in the Ground Transport Center on the ground level of the parking ramp directly across from the terminal building.
On-airport rental car companies include: Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, and National. Each company has counters at both terminals.
For off-airport rental companies, Payless and Thrifty, shuttle buses are accessible from the Lindbergh Terminal's Transit Center, between the Blue and Red Parking ramps. From the Lindbergh Terminal's Tram Level, take the underground tram to the Hub Building. Take an escalator or elevator up to the Transit Center. Off-airport rental car shuttle service at the Humphrey Terminal can be arranged through the call boards in the Baggage Claim area on Level 1 of the terminal building.
Directions from the airport to the Hilton Minneapolis:
Take Highway 5 East approximate 5 miles to 62W (Crosstown). Follow 62W about 4.5 miles to 35W North. When on 35W follow signs for ''Downtown Exits.''Exit at 11th Street and stay in the right-hand lane. The Hilton is located on the corner of 11th Street and Marquette Avenue.
Directions from the Hilton back to the airport:
Take right on 10th Street South, continue 3 blocks to 4th Avenue South. Follow signs for entrance ramp to I 35W South. Go 4.5 miles to the exit for 62 Crosstown East (left exit). Go approximately 5 miles to Highway 55 East. Stay in right lane and follow the signs to either the main or charter terminal.
Traveling to the Hilton Minneapolis via car
From the East:
Take 94 West toward Minneapolis. Take the 11th Street exit and stay in the right-hand lane. The parking garage entrance is on 11th Street on the right between 2nd Avenue and Marquette. For valet parking, continue past the garage entrance to Marquette and turn right. Follow Marquette to the main hotel entrance.
From the West:
Take 94 East toward Minneapolis. Nearing downtown, take the Hennepin-Lyndale exit and stay in the left lane. Take a left at the first stop light onto Dunwoody Blvd. Turn right onto 12th Street. Follow 12th Street to Marquette Avenue and turn left. Follow Marquette one-and-a-half blocks to the main hotel entrance for valet parking. For self-parking, follow Marquette past the Hilton to 10th Street and turn right. Follow 10th Street to 2nd Avenue and turn right again. Enter the parking garage to your right.
From the North:
Take 35W South to MN-280 South. Merge onto 94 West. On 94 West stay in the right-hand lane and take the 11th Street exit. Proceed on 11th Street staying in the right-hand lane. The parking garage entrance is on 11th Street on the right between 2nd Avenue and Marquette. For valet parking, continue past the garage to Marquette and turn right. Follow Marquette to the main hotel entrance.
From the South:
Take 35W North toward Minneapolis. Nearing downtown, follow ''Downtown Exits'' (#65, a left exit). Take the 11th Street exit. Proceed West on 11th Street staying in the right-hand lane. The parking garage entrance is on 11th Street on the right between 2nd Avenue and Marquette. For valet parking, continue past the garage to Marquette and turn right. Follow Marquette to the main hotel entrance.
